2010 MTV Video Music Awards Nominees
Nokia Theater di Los Angeles, California akan menjadi saksi musisi-musisi US berebut Moon Man di 12 September mendatang. Dalam pengumuman nominasi-nominasinya di tanggal 3 Agustus, ternyata Lady Gaga mencetak rekor untuk acara yang diadakan sejak tahun 1984 ini. Lady Gaga mendapatkan nominasi terbanyak, yaitu 13 nominasi dalam 11 kategori. Ini adalah perolehan nominasi terbanyak yang pertama kali dalam satu tahun. Yang lebih hebohnya lagi, jika digabungkan dengan kolaborasinya dengan Beyonce di ‘Video Phone (Extended Remix)’, maka angkanya menjadi 18! Rekor kedua yang dibuatnya adalah memasukkan 2 video dalam kategori paling bergengsi Video Of The Year, yang belum pernah ada melakukannya. Kedua video itu adalah ‘Bad Romance’ dan ‘Telephone’. Mungkin karena itu makanya nominasi menjadi 6.
Yang mendapat banyak nominasi juga adalah Eminem. CreativeDisc Artist of the Month untuk bulan Agustus ini mendapat 8 nominasi untuk ‘Not Afraid’. Rekan sesama rapper-nya Em, yaitu B.o.B. mendapat 5 nominasi, begitu juga Florence + the Machine. Mereka mendapat 5 nominasi untuk VMA tahun ini. Grup rock 30 Second to Mars pun tak ketinggalan eksis. Mereka meraih 4 nominasi. Hayo, nama-nama di atas bisa jadi saingan berat Gaga untuk memperoleh kategori yang paling bergengsi lho!
